<b>How to Promote</b> Your <b>Blog</b> Content - Taylor Clark Posted: 06 Feb 2014 09:05 AM PST Content marketing is considered the "it thing" to do if you're trying to promote your brand or business online, but a lot of people are unaware of how to do it successfully. A successful content marketing plan requires a mix of search engine optimization, social media promotion, email marketing and of course, good content. In order to promote your blog content, you have to utilize multiple resources to expose your followers to your new content and potentially reach new readers. To do this successfully, however, you have to know where to start. Develop a Plan to Promote Your Blog ContentIn order to properly promote your blog content, you need to have a plan in place that you will repeat, time and time again, each time you publish a new post. While it may sound a bit repetitive, it's 100% necessary to get the results your hoping for by publishing content online. I encounter a lot of people (and was guilty of it myself years ago) who get discouraged when their strategy doesn't work immediately, it's important to remember that content marketing isn't an instant gratification process. There will be a wait time. The beauty of content marketing is that it can generate a huge following, drive visitors and ultimately, if you've done things right, increase sales. What discourages many people though, is not seeing an immediate reaction (or success) after they promote their content online. If you're just starting out in the content marketing world, remember that you're not going to have an immediate following. If you're Twitter following includes 12 people, and 8 of those people are your existing employees or friends, you may not immediately get the response you wanted, but don't give up! For this reason specifically we need to develop a content marketing strategy to slowly generate more interest in your blog content over time. While the results won't be instant, over time this strategy will prove worth every bit of effort you put into it. 1. Optimize Your Blog Content for Search EnginesIf you want your blog content to be read by people looking for answers, you need to optimize your blog posts for search engines. In order to do this, you need to go into your post knowing what keywords or keyword phrases you want to optimize for as you write your content, and utilize them as you write. If you've checked out my marketing toolkit, you know that I use WordPress SEO by Yoast to optimize my blog posts. While there is debate as to whether or not it's the best option, I find that it makes it extremely easy to get the basics of SEO handled for each page/post I publish. Keep in mind, that while your post may be optimized for search engines, that doesn't mean it's going to rank well or even generate new visitors to your site, it just sets up the framework to start the process. If your content isn't worth reading, don't expect great results regardless of how well optimized your post may be. 2. Share Your Blog Post on FacebookYou know just as well as I do that the entire world is addicted to Facebook. With that knowledge, it should come as no surprise that one of the best ways to get a buzz going is to share your blog post on Facebook. When you share your post, make sure that you're either using a tool that will share your featured image, or that you publish manually and include a large format image. Don't forget, images can help people click your post and read your content, pick a good one. 3. Tweet Your Content on TwitterWhile sharing to Facebook is great, I find that if I want to reach people I don't know personally, Twitter is the best place to do it. When sharing your content on Twitter, make sure that you include the big 3 in your Tweet:
Make sure that the tweet includes something that will create enough interest to get your followers to click the link. "Check out my latest post" may not work nearly as well as "The 10 Best Ways to Sell Everything," as it doesn't provide any information about the post's content. 4. Post Your Blog Post to Google+Preface: I don't care if you hate Google+, the bottom line is that Google loves Google+, so you really don't have a choice. Google+ has become a much bigger network than anyone ever expected (likely because Google forced everyone onto it) and that means that you need to be sharing your posts there. Aside from the potential SEO benefits, if you're using Google Authorship, you will want to build a following on G+ to help become a recognized and trusted name. 5. Share on LinkedIn and LinkedIn GroupsYou probably don't check LinkedIn unless you received a recommendation or you're searching for a new job, but it's worth sharing. LinkedIn is a great resource when used properly, and can help you brand yourself as an authority on your topic. Don't expect a major response like you would on Facebook or Twitter, but for a complete content marketing strategy, LinkedIn is a necessity. If you're a more active LinkedIn user (which I recommend that you become) share your post in relevant groups that you may be a part of. Despite your personal use level, LinkedIn groups are quite active and depending on your niche, can be a great way to get your content in front of the eyes that need it most. 6. Email an Update to Your Email ListIf you're not utilizing email marketing to help drive visitors to your content, start immediately. People who subscribe to your email list are 100% fans, they have told you that they absolutely want to see more content from you simply by subscribing to your newsletter. Don't let them down, share your latest posts to your subscriber list every time you post. When you send out an email, don't just announce that you posted an article. Include a brief summary with a catchy "call to action" that will encourage them to click and read the article. 7. Keep Sharing Your ContentIf you haven't done so yet, and you're using WordPress for your blog, take a look at my marketing toolkit and get a the Tweet Old Post plugin. This plugin will regularly share your post, and all of your other posts, at an interval set on your website. Twitter is a quick moving network, the more you tweet about your posts, the more chances you have that people will see your content. Note: If your post is news related or outdated, make sure it's excluded from being shared over and over. You don't want to be caught sharing an article about a Facebook update from 2 years ago that isn't even functional anymore (yes, I'm guilty of this and was quite embarrassed when someone called me out on it). Don't Give Up, Never SurrenderI cannot stress enough that the most important part of your content marketing strategy is to never, ever give up on it. There is no such thing as immediate results or instant gratification in the content marketing world, unless of course you already have a huge following. If you did, you probably wouldn't be asking for help. Remember that these steps are the absolute essentials, there are plenty of other networks that you can utilize to market your content online that may work well for your industry. Check out my marketing toolkit for some essential tools to make the most of your content marketing experience. |
<b>How to Promote</b> a YouTube Video | Top Seo <b>Blog</b> - NetLZ Consulting Posted: 08 Feb 2014 01:10 AM PST YouTube is a popular video hosting site which allows registered users to upload videos which are shared with the online community. There are literally millions of videos uploaded and viewed every single day. With this type of competition how are you certain that your videos are ones that will actually be seen by those you want it to reach? It takes some time to create videos to upload to the site and you want to be assured that they are viewed by your intended audience. YouTube videos can be an integral part of a social media or digital marketing campaign. But just because you have created a video that is informative or entertaining does not mean that the online community will flock to it – just because. There are some reliable methods and strategies that can be employed to ensure that it gets in front of your audience. Here are some ways to promote a YouTube video. Promote your video on your email List For those who already have an email campaign in place, it can provide a perfect platform for promoting your latest YouTube video. Depending on your setup, you may want to craft an email that is specifically dedicated to promoting the latest video upload; or you may simply want to share the link inside your regular email campaign. Either way, you are making use of a valuable platform that is already in place. Plus, you already have an audience that is interested in what you have to say.
The social media Connection Whenever you upload a new video, send out a tweet announcing the news. You may also update your status on Facebook to share the new upload. Facebook allows a user to embed a YouTube video in their status update. This can be very beneficial when you want others to know about your latest video. Pinterest also allows videos to be pinned to a virtual pinboard. Video uploads can also be promoted on the various social bookmarking sites. Most social media sites are interactive and allow for videos to be shared in some way. Use what you have. Whichever social networks you are associated with and using on a regular basis can become a useful platform through which your YouTube videos are promoted. It is also beneficial to add the social media icons to your videos so that others can share it on their accounts.
Use your blog to promote your YouTube Videos Your blog is a great place to promote your latest video. With an established blog, you already have a platform and readers in place. Dedicate a blog post to discussing the latest video and its significance and embed its link in the post. Each time you upload a new video, use your blog to describe it and tell your audience why they should check it out. You may also use later posts to refer back to the video when it is relevant.
Create a Custom YouTube Channel There can be a huge difference between simply having a lot of SEO videos on YouTube and creating a series of credible, valuable and interesting videos. Displaying your videos on a single customized YouTube channel adds credibility and makes you appear more professional. It also helps you send a more cohesive message rather than appearing disjointed to your audience.
Employ SEO Strategies A YouTube video can be optimized so that it is easier for the search engines to "find". Use relevant keywords when constructing your video's title and description. Use your tags; you do not have to go overboard, but always include any relevant tags. You can also check after a few weeks to see what keywords are helping the video be found by users and then add or remove tags as needed. If you need to, do a little research and find the right keywords which are relevant to your content. Your main keywords should be added at the front of a title, description or tag. It's okay to add your brand name or the name of your website at the end of the title, but put the primary keywords upfront. You may also add annotations to your video along with a transcription of the video content.

<b>How to Promote</b> a YouTube Channel | Top Seo <b>Blog</b> Posted: 05 Feb 2014 01:04 AM PST YouTube has grown to be the second largest search engine anywhere. For those who want to use videos as part of their digital marketing strategy, YouTube is likely the most powerful platform available. Video marketing can be an effective way to market and promote a brand, product or service. YouTube is a platform that allows users to upload videos. For the business it means uploading highly customized videos that can demonstrate their expertise and knowledge, offer how-to videos for consumers or showcase products and services. One of the greatest benefits of YouTube is that it is far reaching and can potentially go viral for little or no cost at all. Setting up a YouTube channel is relatively easy; promoting it is the next logical step.
What is a YouTube Channel? Joining YouTube is a relatively simple process. Once you have an account, you can log in and customize how your account is going to look. You may also add personalized items such as a logo. When designing your YouTube channel, keep your brand in mind. YouTube can be an essential method for helping promote your brand so it must be at the forefront of your thinking. Once the account is created you will have access to several sections which you can choose to display or hide. You can also select various options that allow your channel to be uniquely yours. Establishing a channel gives you a platform which can be used to connect with your audience through the use of videos.
How to choose a Name for a YouTube Channel It is advisable to go ahead and obtain a custom channel. This will make sure that the YouTube channel is branded for your business. Not only will it offer you a better way to represent your message, but it will also make your video series take on a more professional look. Choosing a name can be difficult in some cases. You want to choose a name that will be easy for others to remember and if it is at all possible, use your business name or at least some of your more prominent and relevant keywords. If you have numerous social networks or sites which are used in conjunction with your business you may want to use a word which identifies it as a "channel." You may want to select a name such as "yourbusinessnametv," or "yourbusinessnamechannel."
Creating a Trailer One of the features you will have when you set up a YouTube channel is the ability to upload a trailer. It can be set up so that it only displays when a non-subscriber visits your channel. This trailer is a video which allows you to show off your channel and try to encourage viewers to become subscribers. Using one of your uploaded videos, YouTube will allow you to select a trailer. Or you can choose to enter a YouTube URL for the trailer. You should also remember to optimize your trailer description with relevant links where users can purchase products, find more information, or follow you on other social networks.
How to Create Relevant Backlinks When you set up your YouTube channel you created a profile and most likely included your links to your business site. This is the first step in using YouTube for relevant backlinks. When you comment on other videos, it will automatically place a link back to your YouTube channel. By creating high quality videos which are informative and engaging to users, you will make it more likely that they will want to visit your site. To create more backlinks, you can embed videos in your website as well as your blog which will send visitors to your YouTube channel. You may also put links in email newsletters and include it on social media updates. On that note, make sure that your YouTube channel is connected with your other social accounts including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
What are subscribers and how do I obtain them? By far the best way to obtain subscribers on a YouTube channel is creating high quality videos that will make users want more of the same. A subscriber is an individual who has viewed your videos, likes what they see and chooses to subscribe. Once they become a subscriber, every time you upload a new video on your channel, they will receive a notification. This is a unique way to stay connected with your audience. The more subscribers you have, the more popular your channel has become.
There are several strategies for obtaining more subscribers to your YouTube channel. Even though it is video content, it is handled similarly to other forms of content. For instance, you will want to upload videos at least one time per week. This will give you more search results and ultimately more subscribers. Make sure to tag your videos to increase their visibility in search engines. And take time for details like developing a good title and writing meaningful descriptions. You may also link your YouTube to social accounts in order to give it more visibility as well as increasing its share-ability among the online community. The more visitors you have to the channel, the better chances you will have of increased subscribers.

5 Easy Ways to <b>Promote</b> Your <b>Blog</b> Posts in Social Media | Social <b>...</b> Posted: 05 Feb 2014 09:29 PM PST
#Don't forget to remember smaller social networks The scope of social media extends way beyond Facebook, Google+, Twitter and LinkedIn. Newer sites away from the spotlight present excellent promotion opportunities since your posts need to compete with lesser posts on these sites. Sites like Tumblr, Empire Avenue and Quora to name a are a bunch of smaller social networks that have active and focused community members. Morph your blog posts according to the requirements of smaller networks and create visibility on those networks. #Unleash your creativity Attention grabbing posts garner promotions through electronic word of mouth. EWOM makes sure your blog posts stay in the limelight, months and months after you've stopped promoting them yourself. So how to tap eWOM you ask? Here's how: 1. Use Vine to create micro videos for your post. These micro videos loop every 6 seconds are a great way to provide a short theatrical trailer of sorts for viewers. Later, tweet the video with a backlink to your post, share it on Facebook, Google+ and other sites. 2. Use SlideShare to create an overview of your blog posts and share the slides on other social media sites as well. #Keep them small silly Instead of writing huge descriptions to introduce your blog post or copy-pasting whole paragraphs on Facebook, use smaller snippets from the post. Sharing views and statements from the post in the form of short attention grabbing posts works as good on Facebook as it does on Twitter. Of course, as is with any successful SEO strategy, remember to backlink to the full blog post. #Pin them, bookmark them, Instagram them This tip ropes in the basic assumption that you abide by the golden rule of including at least one image in all your blog posts. If you didn't already know that, learn it now. A picture is in fact worth a thousand words and your blog post must have one photograph in it at the very least. Now back to the tip, one easy way to gain more promotion on social media is to pin the image you use in your blog posts on the Pinterest contributor board. Pinterest continues to be one of the hottest social media sites since late 2012 and pinning the images featured in your posts on the website increases exposure to the content. Another easy promotion comes from bookmarking the blog posts. Social bookmarking sites like Delicious and StumbleUpon, though not as glorious as they were a few years ago, do continue to have a dedicated fan base.# #Use your personal brand to promote posts Elementary, but extremely overlooked, commenting on related posts and forums is one of the easiest ways to promote your posts. Google for related topics and then be a part of the conversation by adding comments and views. One great trick is to include the link to your blog in your signature. Make it a habit to comment/reply on five or six threads on a forum a day. Apps and websites like Topsy.com, Tehnokrati, Twello and Klout will help you search for keywords and influential people of your industry. Check the activity of important people and groups of your industry and get yourself new visitors by adding high-quality, value-adding comments to popular posts. |
